Description

Weight does not always create pressure.

Sometimes it creates presence.

MASS brings together charred timber and cast concrete in a composition that appears to challenge gravity. Light escapes from beneath the concrete, separating the two materials and reinforcing the illusion of suspension.

Nothing feels accidental.

Every offset, every shadow, every proportion contributes to a balance that is felt before it is understood.

MASS explores the idea that true stability is not created through perfection, but through thoughtful structure.

The Process

The concrete is cast before being carefully positioned above hand-burned timber.

Concealed lighting separates the materials visually, creating the illusion that the concrete is floating rather than resting.
