GENESIS
READ FIRST
Every beginning asks something to be left behind.
Genesis marks the moment where transformation begins.
Description
A fractured surface reveals what was previously hidden. Burnt wood separates to expose concrete emerging from within, illuminated by light that traces the transition between what remains and what is becoming.
Created as a 1/1, Genesis explores the relationship between endings and beginnings where what appears to break apart becomes the very foundation for something new.
Some transformations begin quietly. Not with the addition of something new, but with the willingness to let something old fall away.
Genesis captures that moment.
Two hand-burned wooden forms slowly separate, revealing a concrete core emerging through the opening. Light follows the fracture, drawing attention to what exists beneath the surface rather than what has been lost.
The contrast between charred wood and raw concrete reflects a simple idea:
- Growth rarely begins by building more. It begins by creating space.
- Genesis is not a study of destruction.
- It is a study of becoming.
Edition : 1/1
Genesis exists as a single original work.
It will not be reproduced the same.
The Process
Every surface is burned by hand to reveal its natural texture before being carefully assembled around a concrete center.
No two burns can ever be repeated.
The variations, textures, and marks remain as a record of the process that created them.
